My cousin Kim had posted a pic a week or so ago on FB of the girls making these lasagna rolls and the recipe looked yummy so we thought we would give it a try! It was yummy, I was hoping Iz would try it since she helped make it...but NO! We rolled ours a little different than what the recipe calls for because when we cut the noodles length wise it was to skinny to work with, either way they were YUMMO!

Well Buddy has been up to a lot these days! Some days are good and others not so much!

what a good little elf, he helped me out by wrapping some presents. He also wrote her a note telling her he thought he better help her mommy out and only 5 more days!

She cleaned out her room, got rid of a lot of stuff so another little girl could have a good Christmas and Buddy decided he would get into her dress up clothes and play!

So I never would have guessed we were going to have this problem, although Scott has dealt with this problem all through his life and her feet do look like her daddy's! Anyway I was putting her tights on her for dance class Tuesday and her toe was swollen and lets just say NASTY! So we got it to drain that evening and I called the doctor the next day. They got us right in and Dr. Hord took a look at it and said for her sake and for his and mine we would send her to the hospital the next morning and he would cut it out under anesthesia.

I never though that is what would happen. So Thursday morning bright and early we went to the hospital for the procedure. Although a minor procedure it is never fun having you child put to sleep. Isabelle was a trooper. Came out of anesthesia like a champ and even sang at her Christmas program at school that night.

She did wake up today (Sat.) with it hurting and it was swollen. So after some more medicine on it and some motrin she calmed down. We soaked it in epsom salt and she is doing good! Dr. Hord was great with her as he told me he held her until she was out, that guy has my heart for sure now! He even gave Brittany the chipmunk (she took her into the OR with her) a bandage to match on her toe.

Dr. Hord and Dr, Adams are great doctors. Dr. Adams is the dad of Izzie's little boyfriend at school. He came to chat with Scott in I while we waited on Izzie since his first case had not started yet. That night at the program he assured Izzie the hole in her toe would go away since that is what she was most upset about when we took the bandage off!

Day 4

This was the morning of Izzie's unexpected ingrown toe nail procedure. We had to be at the hospital at 6:30 AM so she could be put to sleep for them to cut out the ingrown toe nail! We found Buddy had gotten into our marshmallows and built some snowmen and had a snowball fight with 2 of her little Lalaloopsy dolls and a barbie mermaid!

We will see what tomorrow brings...I am a bit nervous because the past 2 days he has been a pretty calm elf. Who knows what we will wake up to find tomorrow! ;)

Day 1: Buddy got into a little mess, he got into the sugar and spilled it. Instead of cleaning it up he decided to make a snow or "sugar" angel!

Izzie could not believe the mess above but she was still looking for Buddy, she looked up and found him in the cabinet by the sugar with a note letting us know we were almost out of sugar!

Day 2: Buddy has decided to just hang around for day 2! I think he has a little bit of a gymnast in him!

His name is Buddy! (She loves the movie Elf and I just knew she would name him that). We woke up this morning to find out stockings were hung and see pic below to see what we found!

Our elf had left doughnuts and a note. We opened up the box to find the book and no elf. So we read the book and the note and started looking around to find the elf...

He was sitting in our wreath on the wall! Isabelle named him Buddy!

Look at all the leaves in our yard. Friday afternoon when we got home, Izzie jumped out of the car and right into the leaves. It was a breezy fall Friday afternoon and yes she was in the leaves in her white uniform shirt for school...it is all good it washes!!!! She was making leaf angels! Love it!

Last Night

Last night Isabelle & I went to see Paula & Noah for a little while. While Paula and I were chatting we noticed it got really quiet in the room and look what we found! Those 2 are just like brother and sister, they love each other and play together and sometimes they pick on each other like crazy! Love that we have such wonderful friends that are more like family!

Infant & Pregnancy Loss Awareness Day

Today is Oct. 15, 2011 and today is Infant & Pregnancy Loss Awareness Day. This is a special day set aside for families who have lost a pregnancy like us or an infant. This is honored all month in October and it is so bittersweet. It is awful if you are a part of this "club" so to speak, but so sweet that this tragedy in many lives is honored and recognized. every year more and more families become a part of this day. This not something we all signed up for or we are all excited about joining in life but it is what it is and it happened to us. So glad that the world recognizes that this is real for so many families. Here is my Facebook status for today:

Today is Infant & Pregnancy Loss day, thinking of all the families who have had to deal with losing a pregnancy or an infant. Remembering our Angel babies today as we do everyday. Thankful for the blessing of Izzie and praying for the possibility of more children in our future.

Well for a few days it was! Last weekend was great fall weather! Although it is still pretty outside it got much warmer through the week and feels a little like summer again! Here are a couple of pics from last weekend in some great new fall outfits!

1st Dental Appointment

Well last week Isabelle went to the dentist for the 1st time. Do I wish I had taken her at 3...YES! She did not get the best report but as people have been telling me some kids just get them. Yes CAVITIES! She has 3 they will fix. She actually has 5 but 2 are very minor and they will just watch and since we THREW ALL THE GUMMIES AWAY, they will probably reverse themselves! Yes the gummies are bad bad bad! I was devastated I let my child eat gummies and I know we all do but after last week Isabelle will not touch another gummy or sticky fruit roll up again. I will forever be a mommy advocate against gummies now! She brushes her teeth everyday and most days we did morning & night (sometimes we would miss bedtime ) but not anymore! Bless her heart she wants to brush after lunch at school!

I hate it for her and I guess it was so hard for me to wrap my brain around considering I am 36 years old and I have only ever had 1 cavity in my entire life! They did paint the fluoride treatment on and we will continue to have those each cleaning every 6 months! So on Nov. 3rd they will attempt to fill the worst cavity using laughing gas and then make the appointment for the other 2 small ones, like I said the other 2 will be watched over time. Hoping they stop their damage since we have changed some things! Hoping they are able to fill them with laughing gas so she does not have to be sedated. I will update when the time rolls around! Meanwhile she did great for her 1st visit (I did too and held it together until I got home after all the bad news). Here are some cute pics of her having her teeth cleaned! Prayers for Nov. 3rd are greatly appreciated!

Life got really busy when school started back as it always does! Isabelle LOVES preschool. She even wants to go on Saturdays! Scott & I are so happy with our choice to send her and love to hear all about her new adventures everyday! She loves her teacher and new friends. She is already learning so much! :) School for me started off with a bang. I have found out in the past week that I have plantar faciitis or heel pain, and pain it is! I am on steroids to reduce the inflammation and doing exercises and wearing better supported shoes. I go back in 2 weeks and we will discuss other options like will my insurance cover the expensive custom orthotics????? Anyway I am doing better by wearing better shoes but when you are on your feet all day teaching the pain never goes away! So we are moving right along each and everyday. Isabelle got about 4 inches of her hair cutoff and it looks so cute. Just one more realization that my baby is not a baby anymore *sniff sniff*! Isabelle started dance again. We are dancing at a new place this year and pretty excited that she will have 2 recitals instead of just one! One in the winter and one in the spring. She loves it so far and it is at our church which is better for traveling etc! So I will quit rambling and show you recent pics!

1st Day of Preschool

WOW the day finally arrived, Isabelle went to preschool! I was a WRECK! She did cry a bit when we got ready to leave but Mrs. Holloway said it was only for a few minutes and she did great the rest of the day. I picked her up and she said "mommy I am coming back everyday!" I knew she would love it and I knew she would be fine. The thought of my baby going to preschool and seeing her in her cute uniform and big backpack on just melted my heart. I cried like a silly mommy does as her baby hits another milestone! Daddy and I had breakfast at Fat Tony's ( a great new sandwich shop in town) and then mommy kept busy by working all day in her room at school. Tomorrow is 1st day for teachers and kids come on Wed. for my school! Summer is over!

I can hardly believe I am typing that... 4yr. Pics! Although we had these done in June, it was her 4yr. photo session with the wonderful Brandi Drury! We used Brandi for our maternity, newborns, family pics and my brother used her for his wedding and so did our friends for their wedding. We have not had Brandi in a few years because of $! Thankfully she was running an AWESOMe special this summer and we just had to do it and so glad we did. She does AWESOME work and she always captures Isabelle's sweet spirit even as a newborn! Isabelle has been attending VBS all week at Perry & Abby's church! She went last year and loved it! I do not have all the pics uploaded or the video but here is a sneak peek! Milestones

Recently Isabelle has hit some milestones in her life! 3 years ago Izzie began her journey with
Ms. Shirley when she was just 1 year old. June 10th, 2011 was her last day at Ms. Shirley's :( This was so bittersweet. Although sad to see this chapter in her life close but a new chapter has begun! She started Preschool camp last week. She only goes when I have classes this summer but it is a great transition for Preschool in August. This camp is held at her preschool (again I will not say where since my blog is not private!) Anyway, it was sad leaving Ms. Shirley & Ms. Sara as they have loved my baby as she was their own for 3 years. They will always have a special place in our hearts and be life long friends! Here is a pic of Izzie when she 1st started at Shirley's in Aug. 2008 and my post of Izzie's 1st day at Ms. Shirley's, I am kicking myself for not taking one on her last day but we are going to visit next week and I will take one and add it next week!

So last Monday she headed off to preschool camp, so excited to pack her lunch!

June 2011

So last Monday morning she was excited but nervous and I was so nervous for her. She could hardly eat any breakfast and I could hardly control my emotions. So we get to camp and she goes in like a champ and meets Mrs. Holloway (again) and starts playing. She gave me a big bear hug and I went on out before I lost it in front of her! Needless to say it was like day 1 at Shirley's all over again, I even texted her and told her that! I cried all the way to Georgetown to my grad class. I texted Mrs. Holloway and she said she was doing great and never had the 1st tear. She then sent me this pic of her playing!

Since this week with the help of Grandorie we have made a cool nap mat, will post that when I pick it up and finish the pillow!

I knew she was going to be OK! I think this is a great way to get her transitioned for August! This week she only goes 1 day and she was a bit sad about that!

So hard to believe my baby is growing up!

Again although the milestone was bittersweet we are excited for Isabelle to embark on this new journey but we also thank Ms. Shirley & Ms. Sara for 3 wonderful years of loving Isabelle and helping her grow, you all will never know what that has meant to Scott & I both and we could never thank you enough! We love you!

Expo Dancing & FSB Awards Day 2011

Once recital hit you would think dance would be over...but we were dancing for 3 more weekends! The weekend after recital she danced at the Frankfort Expo on Friday night and had her awards day on saturday! The next weekend she danced for a conference some ladies were having in Frankfort! It was a lot of dancing and a lot of fun she loves to dance! We will back at it in the fall!

Izzie always gets at least 1 pair of crocs for the summer. Usually she gets the traditional and this has been the case since she was one! Well this year she got a new pair and they are different!

I worried she would not have anything to wear with them. You know how you can't picture any of her ooutfits when you are standing there getting ready to make a purchase. My mom said she has a ton of green and pink and well I believed her but could not think of anything. Then we got home and low and behold we found many outfits but this is the one she is wearing today!

Yes I saved my money and I got an iPad and WE love it! Isabelle is a wiz at it and wow the apps are amazing and educational. I use it in my classroom too. I am trying to prove the benefits of using one in the classroom. I think every student at any level will benefit from the use of an iPad and the apps it provides. Well enough of my soap box here are some pics of Izzie using it! These were taken the weekend we bought it!

BUSY! I know that is no excuse but man life has been busy. We started off Feb. with strep throat and life has been hectic ever since! Here are some pics from Jan /Feb I think!

Izzie at Jaclyn's Birthday party...the weekend I thought I had been hit by a semi! Felt awful at the party only to find out 24 hours later I had strep throat. I had not had strep in 10 years! It was bad in my classroom and around school this year and I caught it and needless to say 5 days later Miss Izzie tested positive for it too!

WHAT she is 6 months from turning 4 & starting PRESCHOOL??????

Yes you read that right. Izzie turned 3 1/2 on the 4th of Feb. I get tears in my eyes every time I think about it, she will be starting PRESCHOOL in August! Where has my baby gone and where has the time gone?

I look at pics and honestly just like it was yesterday I remember that huge belly I had the Friday night they checked me in at the hospital and the next day I was holding my tiny little miracle. I remember the days in the hospital I remember bringing her home and yes I remember the sleepless nights...I remember it all and yes I miss it but I also love were we are now.

I love that I so vividly remember every stage of her life so far. I love that I remember every milestone...I have soaked it all in! I know she has many more milestones ahead of her but can time slow down just a little?????

We are embarking on another milestone this next school year she will begin Preschool. We are super excited. We attended an Open House the other night at her new school (which I will not name on here since my blog is not private and I do not want any creepers finding out where my baby is all day- sorry yes I am that paranoid mommy). Anyway the night before we talked about going and she started crying and I asked her what was wrong and she said "what if I am shy and have no friends? I know all my old friends" Well I just started crying and telling her she will make so many new friends and we already knew Kendrick would be there and Jace so she would know a few people! Then I laughed through my tears and said "when have you ever been SHY". I could not believe at 3 she was thinking about that and worried!

So we went to open house and Scott & I love the school and so did Isabelle. She will get art, music, P.E., library, computer & Spanish. I know she will love it and make so many new friends. We are so excited for the new adventure but this also means we are truly one step closer to Kindergarten...yes she will be in Kindergarten before we know it, I have to STOP blinking!

Warm Weather...In January????

** I do have to edit & say this weather only lasted 1 day! We are freezing with snow on the way AGAIN! Hoping the groundhog was right and early spring will be here SOON!***

Yes this was last week on Jan. 29th and it felt like spring and by the looks of Izzie's clothes she thought it was spring! For the record I DID NOT DRESS HER that way. She actually had normal Jan. clothes on and when we hot home for the grocery she stripped to play dress up! We enjoyed some much needed time outside in teh SUNSHINE! The end of last week hit Daddy with the stomach bug and he was not feeling well. Saturday he was up and around and doing better. The yucky virus carried over to Sunday has he did not have much sleep and was feeling really run down and even felt like he was having problems with his a fib (SP?) again but after a nice long 4 hour trip to the ER Sunday night/Monday morning we found out he was fine and needed fluids and rest. Then after a follow up with his regular doctor on Tuesday he is back on his BP medicine! So all is well and praying we all stay healthy!

Snow Memories

Today as Izzie was playing in the snow I looked up and she had walked around our tree and made a circle with her footprints. My heart sank as I was taken back to a snowy day in Memphis. I am not sure how old I was but Rickey was maybe kindergarten or first so I must have been 5th grade or so. It was a snowy day and no school and we stayed with Mamaw & Papaw. Mamaw let us go outside and play in the snow all bundled up and they had a tree in their yard and there was a soft white blanket of snow on the ground (pretty deep I remember) and I walked around that tree and made a circle of footprints just like Izzie did in the pic above. I then went on and left that tree alone and so did Rickey. Papaw came home from work and he said he loved seeing the circle of footprints around that tree. Now this story is really no big deal at all but seeing Isabelle walk around that tree triggered that memory of a snowy day with Mamaw & Papaw. She would get us bundled up and we played and then we would come in and I remember tomato soup and grilled cheese. Man how I miss them both. As I type this post through tears in my eyes I am so thankful for little things like this picture above that brings back those memories. I know today they smiled as they looked down from Heaven and watched Isabelle playing in the snow & I bet they remembered that day I walked around their tree in the snow.

Snow Days 2011

We got some snow this week and I think there is more coming by the weekend. This snow got us out of school 2 days. Before Christmas we had 3 snow days so yes so far we have 5 snow days BUT we will make up 2 of them in March! So hopefully we will not have to go to school ALL summer! The first day it snowed all day and we stayed inside. Isabelle had fun dressing up and playing all day long...her room is a mess! Here are a few pics of that and the 2nd day we got out and played for a bit in the fluffy white stuff! She had a blast making snow angels!

Family Observation Day at Dance Class

Saturday was the last day of the fall semester at dance. Can I just say WE LOVE DANCE AT FSB! I have been so pleased as a parent and Izzie loves it. Very happy with our decision to join FSB and look forward to the spring semester & spring recital! Saturday was family observation day. Scott & I got to watch Izzie in her ballet & tap lesson here are some pics!

So today was the big day. She was scheduled last week and ended up with the stomach virus. Today she had her surgery. She has her 2nd set of tubes. She did well and coming out of anesthesia was better than it was when she was 18 months old. She was in a lot of pain which she was able to express that this time. She is home and doing well. She is still hurting but resting. Here is a pic after getting her all snuggled in on the couch!

Isabelle had her first ballet performance in the Nutcracker this past weekend. She was AWESOME. I am a proud mommy. It was a long day Saturday and she was a trooper through 2 performances not to mention dress rehearsal this night before. The video was taken at dress rehearsal and the 2 shows on Saturday were just as good. Many of the pics on stage are from Friday night too since we could not use flash photography on Saturday. The backstage pics with her friends were taken on Saturday. she was adorable and did an awesome job. She loves dance and has learned so much since late August. We love Frankfort School of Ballet and all the instructors!

Another Shout out for Shutterfly

Realized tonight that our card had the word Family on it twice...I freaked. I honestly did not put it there. When I was making the card I never typed family only gave Collins. So I called customer service and they fixed it. They canceled the order in production and had me go in and fix the card and place the order while on the phone with me. Once I got the card in my cart he stayed on the phone until we made sure the cart showed $0.00. I had to sign out and sign back in a couple of times but now my card is fixed and I did not pay any extra. They were a wonderful help! Below is the right card!

Sitting on Santa's lap 2010...well maybe not!

So we have been talking it up for weeks now about sitting on Santa's lap. She has been so excited about this. So found out last week about this awesome setup at Incredible Daves no mall lines and a super awesome Santa and a photographer we know and love (Brandi Drury who took my maternity pics and her 1 month pics not to mention several family pics and wedding pics for my brother and Sarah). She and another photographer and friend Dawn Horine were teaming up on this one. The price was the same as the mall and much less hectic and Santa really talks to the kiddos.

We were all for it so we got there and she had her picture list ready and walked in and started to walk over to Santa and froze and would not go any closer. So Santa backed off and he went to check on his reindeer while Brandi & Dawn got Isabelle all situated and distracted in the big chair. Santa sneaks back in and we have an awesome pic with Santa this year!

So we thought we were home free...until she caught a glimpse of Santa leaving from behind her chair and she flew out of the chair into my arms trembling. So then after a few minutes Santa comes in but stays across the room from her and talks with her. Dawn sit beside her and Scott and helps her share her list with Santa. Santa pulled out his cell phone and called Elf #1 and had Elf #1 look for several of the things Isabelle had on her list and told the elf to put her name on them. They were awesome. This was so personable. Even though she did not sit on his lap she still got a chance to share her list with him and we got a pic. Last year we did not even push it after the year before where she screamed. She would not even look at a Santa last year. So again here is a stroll down memory Santa sitting lane with last year only being a pic in front of the tree!

Operation Christmas Child 2010

This year we are really trying to teach Isabelle all about giving to others who are less fortunate. Already she has cleaned out many toys and donated them. We also decided to participate in Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child this year. So last Sunday Isabelle and I went to the Dollar Tree and we went shopping! We got all kinds of goodies for a boy and a girl. We got 2 plastic shoe boxes so the children who receive our box will be able to use the plastic box to carry water if needed (Thanks Amy for that tip). We got them soap, hand towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, coloring books , crayons, ring pops, bath sponge, and each child got a couple of toys. Isabelle also gave each child several suckers from her own sucker stash.

This morning before church Isabelle and I were getting ready and we were taking the boxes to church with us. I asked Isabelle if she would like to pick out 2 stuffed animals and 2 books from her room to add to the box and she did. She picked a small baby doll for the little girl and a little lamb for the boy. She also picked out 2 board books for the kids. I am so proud of what she has learned and is learning. I know she is only 3 and yes she still wants but she is learning how important it is to give too. Enjoy some pics of us putting the boxes together last week.

Our new favorite...

Yes we or should I say Izzie LOVES PediaSure Sidekicks Chocolate. Now to her it is a chocolate milkshake. We finally found something to help fill in her eating gaps. We tried PediaSure probably over a year ago but she would have nothing to do with it. She is such a picky eater so we are super happy that she likes these.

We have also figured out in the past couple of months that Isabelle deals with being lactose intolerant. Since realizing this and switching her to lactose free 2% milk not only have we said good bye to tummy problems but also allergy problems. Since we cut her dairy way back a couple of months ago when she had the stomach bug we realized we saw a huge decrease in her runny nose and coughing. We introduced dairy back in her diet (it is her favorite) and immediately we saw runny nose and coughing again. So we switched her to lactose free milk and she transitioned pretty well. We first tried Soy (she was a soy formula baby) and boy that did not go over well at all. Since the change she has not had one drop of allergy medicine or breathing treatment. Like I said tummy issues are tremendously better too. She does still get cheese but it is limited and we only let her have soy yogurt (not her favorite) I am on the hunt for lactose free yogurt so if anyone out there knows where I can find it please let me know.

So back to sidekicks. We tried these because they said they were OK for kids that were lactose intolerant and so far so good! She loves them and I feel better that she is getting a better source of vitamins and things she needs and does not get on a normal basis!

Dance Class

Here are a couple of pics from last Saturday. Isabelle is going to be in the Nutcracker so after regular Saturday morning class she has rehearsal for the Nutcracker for the next few weeks. Here is a pic of a her with 2 of the girls in her class that are also doing the Nutcracker. They all have the part of "dolls" in the Nutcracker. There is also a pic of the girls watching Miss Emily perform their part so (we) the parents can video and help our girls learn their part. I figured the 3 and 4 year old kiddos would come out and twirl around...boy was I wrong they have a major part to learn! We better get to practicing!

Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day

Today is a day set aside for all the families who have lost an infant or a pregnancy. It is a pain no one understands until they have been through it. On this day set aside to honor our lost babies, a dear family friend went in for an ultrasound and learned her precious baby had no growth or heartbeat. She was between 7-9 weeks pregnant. My heart goes out to her. I have been there and heard those words "this pregnancy will not make it". Please keep her and her husband in your prayers. On this day please remember all the families who have lost their precious babies way to soon.

Fall Break So far...

We are on fall break this week and so we took a trip to PA! Look at the color in these trees!

Saturday afternoon at the mall with Papa & Nama

The weather is nice not as cool as I expected. We started out the weekend fine and the Saturday night we ended up in the ER after Isabelle screamed for over an hour with ear and throat pain. Low and behold she had an ear infection in her left ear. Same thing happened this summer except that was an outer ear infection due to swimming this time she has a middle ear infection and was put on zithromax. The next day she woke and was feeling much better. She enjoyed playing outside Sunday afternoon.

We have been sewing and shopping and playing. We miss daddy. He had to stay home to work :(

We are having fun and I have learned how to applique and love it!!!!!!

We were planning on going home on Friday but will probably be staying so we can see cousin Jon and his new wife Teresita. They will be here on Sat. I will try to post more pics in the next couple of days!

Bitty Baby

She loves her Bitty Baby. Bitty baby goes everywhere with us these days. Here she is feeding her bitty baby or sometimes known as Sidney! Isabelle is so loving with her babies. She will make a GREAT big sister one day. She prays every night for a baby brother or sister and so do mommy and daddy. I know God has a plan and he hears our prayers and in his time I know he will bless us with another baby. We will keep praying and Miss Izzie will keep practicing with her bitty baby!

Bring A Friend To Dance Class Day

Today Isabelle was able to bring a friend to dance class. She brought Rachel and they had so much fun. We met this morning in the school parking lot and they followed us. The girls did not see each other until we got to dance class. The girls got out and low and behold they had matching leotards and it was NOT planned we had no idea! Dance Class

Isabelle is LOVING dance class! She is always so excited on Saturday morning! She is learning a lot. She shows us every Saturday what she learns. Her first week in her tap shoes she was not aware that she might slip and bless her heart walked right in and down she went when she hit the dance floor. What a trooper got right back up and went on! She has learned to Sashay and she sashay's all over the place and shows everybody. The video is of her sashaying after she learned it a couple of weeks ago. I am so excited for her and so happy she loves it. This week she gets to bring a friend to dance class and she has asked Rachel to go with her. We are excited for bring a friend day on Saturday, I promise I will have pics of the girls!

The Friday night before Isabelle's birthday party in August we had family pics made. We had not had family pics made since Izzie was 1 year old. We also had her 3 year pics made. We had been going to portrait innovations and this time we asked Lindsay Cox to do the honors. She is trying to build her photography business and she has a wonderful talent for capturing life through a camera! WOW my baby is 3! Where did the time go since 2007! Isabelle you have grown so much this past year. You hit many milestones this past year. In Dec. of 2009 you transitioned to a toddler bed and you potty trained in like 2 weeks! In June 2010 you did something mommy thought would never happen or at least without a fight...you gave up your sassy (paci). You just blossomed into a big girl this past year.

You became more of a picky eater and we struggle daily with that. You have been fairly healthy this year except for a few stomach bugs and a 1 case of strep throat. You did get another ear infection this summer but that was like only your 2nd maybe since tubes last Feb 2009! You are a social butterfly. You love going to church which you and mommy started doing in Oct. 2009 and it is wonderful. You have so many family & friends who adore you which you will see on Sat. (wow we have a crowd coming to your Dora party). I know right now I am forgetting something but will do another post after your 3 year check up (that I need to schedule). Isabelle Grace we love more than words can say! Happy 3rd Birthday!

Papa, Nama & GUB in NYC

Last week Papa, Nama & GUB (Great Uncle Bill) took a road trip to NYC! Nama sent text and pic updates often. This one was taken in Philly (I think) on the way to NYC!

Once in NYC they went sight seeing. They took a tour bus and visited many places like Madison Square Garden

The American Girl Store

This is them in the lobby of American Girl Store! This was so ironic because just a few days earlier Isabelle had gotten the The American Girl Catalog in the mail. She has the Bitty Baby Twins and the double stroller (Santa brought them for Christmas last year). Well she has carried that catalog to bed with her since she got it. She loves Bitty Baby Newborn and most days sometime during the day when she is being quiet you can find her doing this

She is happy to show us 50 times a day what she wants to ask Santa for this year and it is only July!

So Nama calls me, well it was a day I was not by my phone and did not get the message until late. Man I was crushed. So the next day they go back and then I get the pics of them in the lobby and then they send one of the Bitty Baby Nursery

I show Izzie and she goes nuts..."can we go mommy" and I so bad want to say OK but I tell her we will go one day I promise and we will! It is 4 floors of American Girl who would not want to go! Then I get a pic of the babies on display

So at this point Iz and I were just waiting for the text bell to ring on my phone for more pics! Then this one came and good thing Izzie can not read yet because it said underneath

The Purchase!

Yes Miss Izzie will get her wish between her birthday and Christmas she will get the items she has been wishing for the past 2 weeks on pg 50 in the catalog. She turns 3 next Wed. and the following Sat is her party and she will be so excited when she opens her Bitty Baby Newborn and one of the accessories ( I am thinking the diaper bag) and then the stroller with toy bar and doctor's kit will surprise her at Christmas. I can not wait to see her face!

Well it is summer & mommy is out of school and spending the summer with Isabelle! She has been going to Miss Shirley's one day a week but the rest of the time we spend with friends and at the pool and we even hit the library! Izzie was a part of the summer reading program. We read 20 books and she turned her log in and got a free book last week. We have been checking out books and learning all about borrowing books and keeping them safe while we have them. We returned some last Friday and got a whole new batch to read. We have read them all and it is only Sunday because Saturday evening the power went out and what better to do than read the library books! Tonight she was looking at them all on her own!

Sticker Chart

Yes I put my child on a sticker chart. It has helped and actually she is doing better without it now. She has been the one to back away from it making good choices and when told she gets a sticker she says I don't need one! She did fill her chart and got to go for ice cream. She has another one started but when she does choose to get a sticker she does not want to put it on her chart. So back to why we started one. The 2nd week of summer break Izzie was invited to VBS at a friends church. She loved it and went every night but that also meant late nights. Izzie is a routine child and she needs her sleep so by the end of that week she was so out of sorts we were having major melt downs screaming fits and just all around not a nice girl and not making good choices. So we decided to use positive discipline and talk about making good choices and rewarding her with stickers when she did and it worked my big girl is back. Not to say she does not have her moments and even though we are still not on a good routine like we are during the school year but she is making good choices. Tonight even she was watching TV and she said "mommy they are not making good choices they are making a mess". So that tells me it is getting through! When she filled her first small chart she chose silly bands and the second chart she chose yummy ice cream from Pie Kitchen! Here are some pics!

She is smart and she catches on easy and the sassy behavior was something we had to get a hold on and quick. I know she will still show that sassy behavior at times but she also knows what is expected from her and what is right and wrong! I am proud of her and how she is making good choices!

She did it!

She gave up her sassies (paci). Well we had been talking that when I got out of school for the summer we would begin mission get rid of sassy. So last Wed. it began she could only have sassy when sleeping (nap/night time). It had to stay in her bed. We had been talking to her that she would soon be 3 and did not need her sassy. She knew she had to be rid of it by her Dora party in Aug. we talked about going to Build A Bear and putting them in an animal. She liked that idea and then we would say no more sassy and she would reply with "NO". So she was not getting it but she took to the sleeping only OK. She cried when she was tired for it and her option was to go to bed and she would! Well I started thinking if I leave it up to her she will never willingly let it go she loves it. So I decided we would go cold turkey! Scary thought but we had to do it. So Isabelle and I headed to PA on Sunday and I had 6 hours to ponder the idea. So I decided we were doing it. We would go to Build A Bear on Monday and we did. The pics tell the story

So we went to Build A Bear and we walked in and began looking. The wonderful lady walked over and she saw the baggie of paci's in my hand and she said "is this a big day for you" well with that I have to admit tears were in my eyes. I did not think I would make it. This is the last "baby" thing she had she is potty trained and sleeps in a big girl bed. She was losing the paci and she is growing up. With that the sweet lady smiled and she took over walking us through the process and oh she made it so special. Isabelle made her choice and then one by one she put her sassies in the rabbit. The wonderful lady had her put one in each hand and each foot first and she let her feel them. She told her whenever she wanted her sassy she could feel it in the rabbit. She then had her put one in the head and then had her save the last 2. She let Isabelle step on the peddle and stuffed the rabbit then the last 2 along with the heart was put in the tummy of the rabbit. With that Sassy rabbit was sewn up and came to life in Isabelle's eyes. It was awesome that you can feel her sassies in the rabbit. We went on to brush the rabbit and Isabelle picked out Hello Kitty pajamas and slippers for her. She named her "Sassy" since this special rabbit has her sassies!

So on the way home she was sleepy and she asked for her sassy. I reminded her they were in the rabbit and she fell asleep in the car holding her rabbit. So night 1 I thought it would be rough I figured there would be lots of tears. I was wrong she did whine and ask for it but soon fell asleep with Sassy Rabbit. I was so proud of her & made a big deal of it when she woke up etc. Night 2 she did not take a nap all day. She also stayed up late waiting for Papa to get home. So when it was time for bed she did not even ask for it she went to sleep. She is a big girl and she is smart and she knows. I did notice her rubbing Sassy Rabbits foot a couple of times as she fell asleep on night 2 and that is what Sassy Rabbit is for. This is such a bittersweet post for me I am so proud of her but my baby is growing up!

We went to Gallrein Farm this afternoon and we picked strawberries. Man they are pretty and the smell was awesome out in the fields. Looking forward to some strawberry short cake and strawberry jam! We even went through the petting zoo!

Working & Playing In The Yard

We have been really working hard in the yard. We are sprucing up the landscaping! We planted a garden with our neighbor and we are just making improvements. I love all my flowers and they are all growing so well. Isabelle loves playing outside and she loves helping with the flowers and garden especially watering them!

Becoming Quite The Little Gardner

This past weekend we spent time outside planting flowers and mulching. We mowed the yard and tilled the garden. Miss Izzie was right in there with us although she did not like standing in the dirt in the middle of the garden. We hope to plant this week once the rain stops!

Mother's Day 2010

My sweet girl woke me up this morning by giving me a kiss and saying "I love you mommy". Now that is the best way to wake up even if it is at 6:30AM and the alarm was set for 8AM! So her and I got up and daddy had to work over so he came in a little after 7AM and he called Izzie into the other room. See last Saturday they went shopping for a little while and gave me some alone time to rest! Well they did Mother's Day shopping! So Izzie signed the card and brought it into me. I opened a sweet card she picked out and a "gift card" as Izzie called it for FARMVILLE! Yes I love it!!!!! I was so excited to redeem the card for FV cash!!!! At daycare Izzie made me a sweet card and it had a cute necklace in it of a little girl and said "I love you mommy" It has been a WONDERFUL mother's day! So as tradition has it for us we took a pic of Izzie and I together this morning before church! Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mommies out there!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is April 27th 2010 and that is Daddy's b-day! Last night I made a butter pecan cake and real cream cheese icing. Tonight we cooked out and then Isabelle got to do what she had been waiting for all day. She put the star candles on daddy's cake and she helped him blow out the candles. She was so excited about blowing candles out! Happy Birthday Daddy we love you!
