Monday evening around 6pm I gave Isabelle her first dose of Bactrim (sulfa drug) and within an hour she had a raised rash on her belly. I gave her benadryl like they said and called and we went up to the office and by the time we were seen the rash was on her leg and hands. So guess what she is allergic to Sulfa drugs just like mommy! She is limiting herself on her antibiotic options. She is now on a liquid z- pack (zythramax) not sure of the spelling! The docotor said we are just buying time until next Thursday because those ears had to be treated and we need to get the tubes. 1 week to go!

I too am allergic to sulfa drugs- same reaction. A little advice if an allergic reaction like that occurs again I use benadryl cream on Henry because it itches so bad. If he gets a hold of milk and it splashes on him (he is HIGHLY allergic) he breaks out where ever the milk touches his skin. I wash him off really good and apply the cream- talk about relief:) Anyhoo just a suggestion.
Awww poor thing :-(
